Joe Ibarra announces another run for sheriff The Argus-Press CORUNNA — Joe Ibarra announced Wednesday in a prepared statement that he is running for Shiawassee
I welcome the opportunity to work as the Sheriff of Shiawassee County. When elected, I will bring my experience and knowledge that I have gained over many years in various leadership positions. When elected as Sheriff of Shiawassee County, I will work tirelessly to use my position to be an example of leadership. I will work to serve and protect all of the people of Shiawassee County. Some of my objectives will be; listen to the citizen’s concerns and take action when needed, work within the budget to get more hours of road patrol for these cities, villages, and townships.
I have been a lifelong resident in Shiawassee County for forty-five years. I was born in Lansing, Michigan, and lived in Durand. My Father Joseph Ibarra Sr worked for Grand Trunk Western Railroad (CN), my Mother Delois had the toughest job of all, a stay at home mom. I have four older siblings Donald, Steve, LaDonna, and Lori. My family and I moved to Owosso, Michigan, when I was six years old.
I am the owner of an IT company that serves all of Michigan including, some areas in Ohio.
I have served as President for a non-profit organization that works with the public along with other City Police departments.
I am currently a Reserve Police Officer for the Owosso Police Department serving the citizens for the past nine years as a volunteer, non-paid position. I donate my time to help better the community and give back. I have worked as a fugitive recovery agent, also known as a bounty hunter. Law enforcement is in my blood, and I will do everything possible to serve and protect Shiawassee County.
I have been married to Erin Ibarra for twenty-one beautiful years; we have a beautiful daughter Rebecca, who has graduated from Corunna High School and now works at Pleasant View, Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility. We also have a German shepherd / Lab named Grace and a Red Bone Coonhound / Collie named Callie.
I have donated hundreds of hours to our community to make it a better place. I am the President of a nonprofit organization (Community Radio Watch). This nonprofit helps local municipal departments with traffic control, missing persons, security for fires, flooding, down wires, and any other needs that may arise. I have also helped other nonprofits that have required my assistance.
